88 - Double Happiness: Enjoy the music and Support a cause :)
We are landing in Singapore with one of the most prolific artist of the Lion City.
Hailing from Singapore, HALAL SOL produces deep house and acid jazz soul inspired beats. He started making music in his bedroom in 2013 on a computer and later experimented with hardware controllers to incorporate
a 'live' feel to an otherwise digital genre. It was not until 2018 when he started to bring his live sets out starting with a set on Singapore Community Radio show. It was then when he caught the ears of Singapore's underground electronic music scene. Since then, he has been doing regular live sets and DJ sets focusing on underground house music. His most used gear is a Roland TR-8s sampler which he uses in conjunction with Ableton Live. The on-the-fly capabilities of the sampler allows him to ensure that he is able to make each live set as unique and engaging as possible.
His music is influenced by 90s house music and is characterised by wafting synths and deep, hypnotic groove.
'Only One' is inspired from the simpler times of house music where the drums, chords and bass play a pivotal role in driving the momentum of the party forward. The emphasis is on the smooth jazzy chords which makes the track true to its deep house roots. The drums are you typical 909s with an added shuffle to it and is embellished with other sounds and samples. The addictive yet simple bass line drives this track to be the one for the night.
