Roshan Menon is a DJ and creative based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He is the Founder of music imprint SaturdaySelects and Co-Founder of electronic music label Laksa Records.
Having started DJ-ing 6 years ago, Roshan’s first foray into the music scene in KL was promoting parties through SaturdaySelects. This eventually grew into booking international DJs, a stint as a Music Director and handling Marketing for local clubs.
He is inspired by DJs such as Kerri Chandler, Moodymann, HUNEE and Gilles Peterson’s effortlessness in weaving between genres during their sets and creating a unique atmosphere for the people in the room. This
drove Roshan to be open to all kinds of music and allowed him to share a wide variety of his digs through the radio shows he hosts for SaturdaySelects. This also created an arsenal of tracks for his live DJ sets where you can expect to hear Disco, House music, Funk, Soul and classic Hip-Hop beats throughout.
Roshan has also played alongside Soulection artists Jarreau Vandal, esta., Joe Kay, Jael, Yukibeb and other notable DJs such as Branko, Bambounou, Cezaire & Yung Bae. Music has also allowed him to travel and play in cities such as Paris, Tokyo, South Korea, Bali, Sydney & more that has connected him with many producers and DJs in these cities which fostered new relationships and collaborative opportunities.
Recently getting into music production, Roshan released his first EP with November Rose in 2021, and has done remixes for regional labels like Ohrwurm and Balloom Records. You can expect to hear more original
music from him going into 2022.
